Stehekin is in the North Cascades mountains of Washington State. The population is 79 this winter. We have a road but no roads come in from outside the valley. The boat that connects us to the world 50 miles away "downlake" runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday until April first, when it starts running everyday. Most of our homes have satellite internet but we need the post office as a way to get library books, newspapers, magazines, netflix and of course mailart.
Still a lot of snow on the ground but it's disappearing fast.

The "Maps, Animals, Mountains" show was hung in Stehekin's Golden West Gallery. We had an opening for the Stehekin community with punch, cake and cookies on January the 21st. It was a "dark and stormy night" making for difficult winter travel but a small, enthusiastic group came. The pictures below are from the opening. The show came down on March 28th.
